Jai Shah may get a big responsibility
The annual AGM of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is scheduled to take place on December 24. The inclusion of two new teams in the IPL will be discussed. The meeting's agenda also includes the election of a new vice president. The BCCI has also sent an agenda of 23 points to all the recognized units 21 days before calling the AGM.
An important point in this agenda is to make it a 10-team tournament by including two new teams in the IPL. Adani Group and Sanjeev Goenka's RPG (Rising Pune Supergiants) want a new team. One of the teams will be from Ahmedabad. The meeting will also discuss who will represent the BCCI in the ICC and the Asian Cricket Council. And it is likely that this responsibility will be handed over to Board Secretary Jai Shah.
Along with the chairman of the selection committee, 3 new selectors are also to be elected. A senior board source said the selection committee would be part of the cricket committee. In addition, a technical committee will also be constituted. These are all sub-committees. A sub-committee of emperors will also be constituted. In addition, issues including the 2021 program, the T20 World Cup will be discussed.
