Ben Stokes Father Gade Died With Brain Cancer | Ben Gives Emotional Message

Ben Stokes was unfortunately not with his family during this difficult time

England all-rounder Ben Stokes' father has died after fighting a battle with brain cancer. He was diagnosed with the disease earlier this year in January and had also been in critical condition for five weeks. He was then admitted to a hospital in Johannesburg and later discharged. Gade was at his home in Christchurch, New Zealand for the past few months where he died on Tuesday.

Ben Stockes was refreshed from the ODI arrangement against South Africa which was ultimately dropped because of Covid-19 cases in the two camps. But due to the quarantine protocol and some rules, the all-rounder did not find time to arrive on time to be with his father.

Stokes cut his stay with the team during the home season earlier this year and went to New Zealand to live with his father. He also arrived in the UAE late to participate in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the same reason. All-rounders dedicated every match-winning innings to the father.

The news of Ben Stokes' father's death was revealed by Gade's former rugby club Working Town, for which he played and coached. The club said Gade will always be remembered. "It is with great sadness that our former player and coach Gade Stokes has passed away." Ged will be sorely missed. All of Ged's friends are sad at the moment.

At the same time, Ben Stokes has delivered a sentimental message after the death of his father. He said that this moment is sorrowful for him, but as I grew up, I came to know that all this happens due to a reason. My father inspired me to be a cricketer and has supported me at every turn. Stokes further said that he was in a lot of trouble but did not let it be revealed to anyone.
